Caramelized Crispy Snack Mix (bugles)

9 cups corn chex
9 cups rice chex (I use 2 big bags of bugles)
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup butter
½ cup light corn syrup
½ t baking soda
2 cups candy coated milk chocolate pieces

Heat oven to 250, spray roasting pan w/ no-stick cooking spray. Place cereal/bugles in prepared pan. Combine brown sugar, butter & syrup in a 3-quart saucepan. Cook over medium-high heat until mixture comes to a boil (8-9 minutes). Continue cooking, stirring constantly for 1 minute. Remove from heat, add baking soda and mix well. Pour syrup mixture over cereal/bugles, toss gently until well coated. Bake for 40-50 minutes, stirring every 15 min. or until coating is set. Cool and add chocolate pieces. Spread mixture onto waxed paper, cool 10 minutes, break apart. Store in container w/ tight fitting lid.
