Caramel Pumpkin Oatmeal Bars

2 C flour
2 C rolled oats
1 1/2 C packed light brown sugar
1 T pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 C butter, melted
1 C canned pumpkin
7 oz caramels..unwrapped (1/2 of 14 oz bag)
2 T milk

Oven 350. Mix flour,oats,sugar, pumpkin pie
spice, soda and salt in large bowl. Add butter.
Stir til mixture is blended and forms coarse
crumbs. Reserve 1/2 for topping. Add pumpkin to
remaining mixture in bowl. Stir til well blended.
Press evenly into greased 9X13 pan.
Microwave caramels and milk on HI 2-3 min or till
caramels are completely melted, stirring after
every minute. Let stand one minute. Pour over
pumpkin mixture in pan, spreading to within 1/2
inch of edges. Sprinkle with remaining crumbs.

Bake 30-35 min or till light golden brown.
Cool in the pan on a wire rack. Cut into 24 bars.
Makes 2 dozen.
