Double Chocolate Brownies

¾ cup all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
¾ cup sugar
5 ½ tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons water
One 12oz pkg (2 cups) Semi-sweet chocolate morsels - divided
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
½ cup chopped nuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 325F.
Grease 9-inch square baking pan.
In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.
In saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, butter and water.
Bring to boil stirring constantly; remove from heat.
Stir in 1 cup of morsels and vanilla extract until mixture is smooth.
Transfer to a large mixer bowl.
Beat in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Gradually beat in flour mixture.
Stir in remaining 1 cup of morsels and nuts.
Spread in prepared pan.
Bake 35 to 40 minutes until set.
Cool completely; cut into squares.
